Practicing my Circus act

It is very important to practice your tricks and stunts so you don't get rusty. Here I am working on my highwire act. Wow! You can see a lot from way up here! If you open your eyes really WIDE you can see even more!
The hardest part about this stunt is mounting the apparatus. I have to climb onto the safety net (bed), then jump up into the platform (windowsill), and then climb from the platform onto the highwire. I especially like to do this stunt when my Mommie is right below me!

  1. It's good that you practice your high-wire skills. Mommy just saw that there is a fat camp for animals in Tennessee! I don't think I would like that camp!

  27. Oh Daisy, you are furry brave! I used to get on top of doors when I was younger, but now that I'm almost 6 I try to stay closer to the ground. Do you jump onto the bed when you want to get down? I used to cry and cry until my Mum would rescue me.

  28. Oh my you are a wonderful high wire acrobat! Does your mom get very scared when you do this? I'll bet she does but at least you have a safety net (bed) below you if you were to fall.

I really admire your grace and daring! Daisy the Daring Curley Cat...woo hoo you go girl!

  33. Daisy: first time I saw you pull stunts like this, I really panicked. Then I panicked some more the second time I saw you pull stunts like this. These days, however, I understand that you really are an acrobatic cat and you NEVER fall and you ALWAYS have your human watching you. So now I only worry, just a little bit.

  40. Here is how I get down: I walk around and around and around and around and around up there until my Mommie gets nervous and makes me come down. When she tries to take me off the highwire I wrap my paws around the apparatus and cling on tight because I hate to come down. As soon as she gets me off, I usually jump right back up there. I can get up there and back down all by myself because there is a high window right behind the bed.

  41. You are an amazing athlete, Daisy! So lean and svelte. I love to jump and I'm very good at it, but I'm not as good at climbing because I'm short-legged and rather... curvy *smile*.

  45. i've never seen a cat with such an interesting coat before! she alos has really cute ears! are they hypo allergenic like a lot of curly coated breeds of animals? my boyfriend is allergic & if this breed was, i'd love to get one since i'm a cat lover & right now i am 'catless'. *love* the pic!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hi Karen! I am a Devon Rex cat. Here is what the CFA breed profile says about my curly coat:

Devons do shed (as does anything with hair), although their unique coat may make the shed hair less obtrusive than that of many cats. Devons have also gained a dubious reputation as being "hypo-allergenic," but this varies according to an individual's personal allergies. While some people with animal allergies tolerate Devons very well, anyone with allergy issues should arrange to handle a Devon before considering acquiring one.
