A couple of weeks ago, I was one of the winners in Baby Patches' Halloween Costume Contest. Here is one of the presents I picked out for my prize: a new Cat Dancer! This is one of my most favorite toys of all time, and our old one was getting worn out.
I had tons of funs playing with it!
And Harley had a good time, too!
And our prizes came in the perfect box. If you combine a box with a toy, you can DOUBLE your good time!
Thanks, Baby Patches! After I got tired of playing, I started thinking about all the kitties in shelters who don't have such a good time. I'll bet they would LOVE some toys and treats for Christmas!
So Harley and I decided to donate to the Santa Paws Drive! It is a Christmas toy drive dedicated to helping dogs and cats. Six different shelters will benefit! You can choose to donate money (starting from only one green paper!) or toys. Harley and I picked out the big cat gift bundle. After we donated, we felt very happy inside. We hope some kitties will have a little bit of extra holiday joy this season.

Congrats on winning, Daisy! We love our cat dancer too!! Our mom hooked it to a chair somehow so we can play with it all day long if we want.

ReplyDeleteCordelia Joy *loves* her Cat Dancer toy! I had to buy a new one to have on hand 'just in case'. I think it's lovely that you donated to a good cause! I'm going to donate to our local organization-PAW this year. I'm hoping to do approx. 5 dollars for each adult person I have to buy for this year (parents, in-laws, spouse)-and my two kitties too! I'm very excited ^_^

Concats on winning the competition. We have never seen one of those toys but we know most kitties love them.
ReplyDeleteEvery year mum looks through all our toys to see what we don't play with any more. Then she washes them and when they are dry she marinates them in nip. Then she puts them in a package with lots of packets of treats and takes them to the local shelter for the kitties for Christmas.

ReplyDeleteOh, we like the cat dancer here too! Our grandma volunteers at a shelter and she makes sure all the kitties get LOTS of loving and playtime. She said a lot of the volunteers like the dogs, so she is known as the "cat lady" there. I'm sure all those kitties at the shelter will love new toys.

This is a geat idea Daisy, we will get our Mommy to donate, too. We give our old towels and blankies and beds to our vet, who passes them on the homeless folks who have pets (he does charity vet care).

That seems like a good toy. We have some wand toys with fevvers and fuzzies, but not like that one.
