My Pretty Pink Pill

This stuff is called Cosequin Feline. I like it because it is a pretty pink color. My Mommeh was noticing that I don't play as much as usual, and I spend a lot of time on my heated cat pad. Since Devon Rex kittehs can be prone to hip dysplasia, my Mommeh decided to try some Cosequin to keep my joints healthy.
I get this sprinkled on my foods, and it tastes a little bit delicious.
It has been about a month, and I definitely play and jump and run around more now! My Mommeh says I act like a little maniac sometimes.
I like this picture because, even though I have a squishy belleh, when I stretch out to jump, it goes away! See how trim I look? Maybe it is not a squishy belleh, maybe it is just some extra material so I can stretch out long. Yeah, that must be it!

ps: Check out this story about the Top 40 Cat Care Blogs. My bloggie is listed as one of the Top 9 Cat Bloggers! I feel proud and happy!

  13. Daisy - that action picture of you was great. Mum will remember about your pills because Emma who lived here before us had painful arthritis and she would like us not to be sore like she was. We see Fat Eric got a mention too as well as Sparkle and Goma.

  15. That is such a big pill, Daisy! When we first saw it we wondered how in the world you would swallow something so big!!! We are glad it gets sprinkled on your food instead. It looks like it must be working for you, too. That is quite a leap you are making in the picture.

  18. Your belly is all you, and you are a love kitty, so a little stretchy skin is just more to love! I'm glad your mommeh decided to see if maybe you were hurting a little, and try to fix it. When my kitties get sick, I never see until they really feel bad. My vet told me it was because animals don't show illness or weakness, because in the wild places, it would mean they would be prey. It helped me understand how hard I had to look at them and to trust my instincts if I didn't think everything was okay, even if they didn't have overt symptoms. I'm glad your mommeh knows you so well!

  21. Mom's been wondering about Scooby lately. He seems to walk kind of gingerly and doesn't like to jump up on things anymore. He's 10 and she's worried it might be a touch of arthritis.

  27. Daisy, I would not TOUCH any food with the cosequin on it...not even tunas! I think it is manufactured by Monsters. Mommy was sad about that because it would be good for my rebuilt knee.
You are QUITE the leaper! My poochie pleats all go away when I stretch, too.

I think your attitude is wonderful about your medicine, just having a good attitude about it makes it taste better.
Also...Cody agrees about jumping making a "belleh" look thinner...he experiences the same phenomenon! MOL!

  40. Ooh, Daisy - you look so cute with your pink pill!

Tee! Hee! Lemon had a "squishy belly" too - or rather, we called it her "saggy tummy" - but the vet said that it's just the "fat pad" and that all kitties have it! Although it was more pronounced in Lemon coz the vet said she was an 'old-fashioned' type of "cobby cat" with those compact bodies, like you used to see on farms. Hsin-Yi used to love to play with Lemon's 'saggy belly' and squeeze it and tease her - Lemon was very good about putting up with it! :-)

  42. ooohhh and aren't you cheeky....jumping around on the kitchen counters...hahahhahah.

Yep...I've got a bit of squishy tummy stuff on my belly too....and it helps to stretch me out...to my full height... but, it does kind of settle when I just stand normally..... sigh.... but, I'm going to run right out and get some pink pills.... and before I know it...I, too, will be jumping from counter to counter.... wheeeeeeeeeee.... I hope nobody shows up with a camera....

  46. Your Mommeh may also want to try giving you Dasuquin, Daisy. I haven't used it for cats, but have given it to my very large, very old dogs for hip pain and it really helped. Cosequin made a small difference for them, but Dasuquin made a *big* difference (my German shepherd was able to stop taking Rimadyl). I'd been giving the dogs Cosequin for about two years before I switched, so I'm sure the improvement I saw wasn't just imaginary.
