When my Mommeh came home from her vacation in Wyoming, she brought home a few old photos. And LOOK what I found...
Besides the crazy 80s hairdo and cat sweatshirt, what do you see? Another CAT! This kitty was a chocolate point Siamese cat named Haiku that she loved with all her heart. Sadly, Haiku had to go to the Bridge when she was only 4 years old on account of a problem with her kidneys.
Mommeh, I hardly recognize you!

It´s fun to watch old photos and laugh about hairdo and clothes your human used to wear :)
ReplyDeleteThat photo made my human sad because she does not have any photos of herself with the Cat Before Me. She has photos of her, and photos of herself, but none together.
ReplyDeleteDaisy, don't worry about that kitty.
ReplyDeleteYour Mom needed a kitty to hold way before you were born :)
Even our Mom had some silly pictures from the 80's including what she calls "big hair" :o Sounds scary to us :/

Aww it is funny that your mommy looks younger now than she did then. What a sweet kitty, and we are glad that they got four precious years together.

Daisy, it is a wonderful thing that our humans love many of us during their long lives. We come and go so quickly, Haiku far too young, and they are always ready to open their hearts again and love just as strong. That is a beautiful thing!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Ha!!! Daisy, are you a wee bit jealous, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI heard on FB you weren't feeling well - I'm hoping this morning finds you healthy and well.
(Sorry about Haiku - what a beauty.)
Daisy, my Mom says your Mom's hairstyle was totally mild for the 80s and she looks very purity. What a sad thing Haiku had to go to the Bridge so young.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that Haiku had to go to the Bridge so young. She looked like a sweet kitty.
ReplyDeleteWe have seen some old photos of our mum too and nearly didn't recognise her either.
WE are with you Daisy, we hardly recognized Mommeh. It is so hard to lose a kitty when they are that young. Our Mommeh lost a doggie when she was only four from kidney failure.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice memory for your mommeh, Daisy. Thanks for showing us Haiku. It's too bad she went to the Bridge at such a young age.
ReplyDeletememory lane and another dear little friend
ReplyDeleteDaisy, you want to see big hair? Mommy ought to publish one of HERS!!! Downright SCARY!
ReplyDeleteAre you alright? I saw that comment about FB and you not being well?
Hey, that 80's hair is nuthin' in comparison to some! We laugh, but 80's music is cool now! And so are the fashions. We knew what we were doing back then!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we have photos to remember our old friends. It's bittersweet though.
Daisy, we think your Mommy looks just as kind and lovely then as now.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see your Mom with Haiku and it is so sad they didn't have a longer time together.
ReplyDeleteLuv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
i think the expression on your face says it all. haiku is a lovely name for a kitty.
ReplyDeleteMommeh is just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Mommeh and kitty. But you are the cutest!!
ReplyDeleteI likes ur Mom and her kitteh friend. :)
ReplyDeleteYour mom's hair is a LOT smaller than SOME hair my MomKatt remembers from the '80s! She looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnd little Haiku is adorable ... I'm very sorry that your meowmy lost her so young. We have 2 Meezers in our family, too ...
Purrs!

Awww, we'd reconize that sweet smile anywhere! Before her first kitty went to the bridge, she had a friend take some photos of them together and she treasures those. We have to thank TWCB for making our catmom's cat lovers in the first place, right!
ReplyDeleteHey, its your Mommie when she was just a kitten herself. Glad to see on facebook that you are eating again. Don't scare us like that Miss Daisy!!
ReplyDeleteDaisy, trust me. None of us who lived in that time want to go back to those fashions
ReplyDeleteHaiku was a very pretty kitty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous cat Haiku was! My human is much like Sparkle's. There are few shots of her with the cats who came before
ReplyDeleteOMG! Sweetie mom, cat lover since a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteThe couch in that picture is pretty awesome, too. How sweet that your mom still has those pictures of her little kitty.
ReplyDeleteMemories are both funny and good
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
I love those old pictures. Put in a good work with your Mommy for me, Daisy.
ReplyDeleteI had a chocolate point. Sheba lived to be 19 before her kidney problems. I still miss her every day. Not many of the old "apple head" chocolate points available anymore
ReplyDelete80's hair -- oy! Actually your mommeh was pretty conservative compared to most.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your Mommy losing gorgeous Haiku; Mommies never forget their babies...Your Mommy was always and still is a beautiful woman!...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteyour Mommeh looked beautiful...so sad about the kitty...love the name Haiku
ReplyDeleteThat is sad about Haiku. I'm sure they enjoyed the time together they had though.
ReplyDeleteDaisy, your Mama looks just as gentle and sweet then as she does now. Lucky Haiku to have had four years of true love from her :)
ReplyDeletethe critters in The Cottage xo
That picture is so sweet. Haiku went to the Bridge way too young.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids and Lexi
80's hairdos were pawesome!

Wow Daisy! Your Mommeh could be on that show, "I love the 80s!" (So could our Mommeh and Daddeh, for that matter!)
ReplyDeleteHugs!

I love old pictures! I hope we have "old pictures" later still. I kind of worry because they're all digital now. Nothing to flip through or pass down but files. :(
ReplyDeleteMe loves to look at old pictures!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
Old pictures of Beins are funny! Too bad about Haiku, though...
ReplyDeleteI love seeing old pictures; your Mommeh sure looks different :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sad Haiku had kidney problems. She looks like a very pretty kitty!
