How Does THAT Work? Lizard Tails
It is ME again. Harley. Did you ever notice how lizards always lose their TAILS if you play too ROUGH with them? Well, I FIGURED OUT how they do it. It is a sneaky TRICK!
Even though Daisy tried to STUDY lizards, she did not FIGURE this out! This means I am very, very SMART. I could be a SCIENTIST!
First here is VIDEO which DEMONSTRATES the LIZARD TRICK!And here is how they do it. It is a PARTY TRICK!!!!!
I am a little bit SORRY I gave away the SECRET. But I am GLAD that I figured it OUT!
I hope this ANSWERS all of your QUESTIONS.
58 Notes for Daisy:
Lizards look fun! We don't have them here, in UKland.
Ah-ha! I've always wondered about that lizard tail thing! Now I know!
But you can still nom the lizard tails after the rest of the lizard runs away, right? And then their tails grow back, so it's okay!
Those darn lizards! They will do anything to impress partygoers.
thank you for solving that mystery for us Harley. The scientific world will be impressed with your findings.
Haha! Very funny, they are most sneaky. I have never seen a lizard, but Mom say she used to see them (and catch them) in the wild when she was a kid.
Purrs,
Virus
Harley-it just amazes me how smart you are.
I KNEW there had to be a trick to it! Good job Harley, you're the BEST investigator ever.

What a great trick! Harley, you are so clever! We don't have lizards here in Ontario, Canada, so we'll never get to see them do it. Too bad!
LOVE the video--that is hilarious!
We hate the way the lizards get away. Thanks for letting us know how they do it.

my question is why do lizards have tails in the first place?
So that's it! I remember Toonces! Did he retire? Does he live near you in Florida?
That was very clever of you Harley - thank you for telling us. We have never seen a lizard and our Mum is very pleased about that!!
now I know... Thanks for clearing that up. That might be Nobel prize worthy...
Hilarioous stuff Especially here in Florida
Velcro, huh? Why do I think maybe not. But that was a fun post anyway!
You are so smart, Harley! So that means we shouldn't go for the tail then, because they can get away, right?! mawhawhaw!
Wow! I wish they had that sort of trick for cats. Imagine what fun we'd have with those!

Do yoo fink lizards have a "Norty Lizard Club"? They look BIG fun!
Lizards are very tricky! You're so smart for figuring that out Harley!
We're glad you figured out the secret of lizard tails! We don't have lizards here but maybe we can order a tail anyway!
Velcro? Harley you are a genius!
At first I couldn't figure out where lizards would get $9.99, but then I remembered all those Geico commercials.
Harley, you are so smart. I am amazed. You might be a genius
bonks
You are a very smart scientist kitty!
You are brilliant Harley; you've solved a huge mystery!...Thanks for letting us know...kisses handsome...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Wow!!! Break away tails!!!??? Amazing! Your intelligence just blows us away Harley!
Harley! What would we do without your brain?!
Velcro!! Who would have guessed that. You're so smart, Harley!
Thanks for the insight. Huggy Bear tried to play with a "lizard" once, but it turned out to be a skink instead, at the tail didn't come off. All that happened is Mom got in a tizzy. I wish we had a real lizard come play with us so we could see how the tail works. But they seem to be happier outside.

HaHa, Harley, you are a genius :)
Harley,
That clears up a huge mystery! When we eat lizards, they usually come back up. (On the beige carpet if we're really lucky!) Now we know that it's the VELCRO that upsets our tummies! In the future we're gonna gnaw that part off before nomming on the rest of the lizard. Many thanks for the lesson.
Nobody can fool you, Harley! You've got it down to a science, for sure.
Hey, you could market those things and make a fortune!
Harley that is so interesting! We don't have lizzards here but we hear about them a lot! We had no idea that was how they were able to get their tails off! We really love your How Does THAT work posts Harley - we always learn so much! We can't wait for the next one!!
MOL! You are one very smart kitty, Harley!
Now we know lizards not only look funny, they are also natural born pranksters.
Excellent detective work!
Oooooooh!
Now I know!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hahahahaha - that's so funny!!!
Harley, I am impressed!!
You are a genius!
So, that means ta ignore the squirmy tail and get the slizzard BODY? Oh Bast, that fooled us. Now we know better.
Thanks Harley!
Those lizards sure have a sneaky trick up their sleeves...er, tails.
I KNEW it!
Those lizards are so sneaky. Maybe you should try capturing them by the head instead of the tail. Unless they have Velcro necks.
I like to make lizerds run into the bushes. :)
Ha! Good thing for Velcro!
