Seven Weird Things About Me

I was tagged by Jackie, Gidget and Fritz at Catnip Corner; SophieKitty, and Mrs. Lilly White for the Meme "7 Weird Things About Me." I have done this one a couple of times before, so I will try to think of some new things. Here are the rules:

1. My curly whiskers are brittle and break off very easily. The whiskers on the right side of my face are always shorter and more broken than the left side.
   
2. I never make a true "meow" sound.
   
3. After my bladder-stone surgery, the furs around my incision site grew back fawn colored instead of white!
   
4. My Mommie got me from the same breeder that she got my big sister Pixie from.
   
5. Sometimes I get busy and forget to go to the litterbox and when I remember, I must race upstairs very quickly and leap into the litterbox so I do not have an accident.
   
6. My Mommie keeps a little Dixie cup of water on the bathroom counter for me to drink from. Every night, when I am done drinking, I kick the cup into the sink.
   
7. If I am playing with a lizard and nobody is home to take it away from me, the lizard usually ends up deaded and my Mommie has to throw him away. I guess I am a little too rough.

About Daisy's House...

Guess what? I was tagged by Reba the Rottweiler to do a Meme about my home. Do not worry, Reba is friendly to cats. I do not have my very own house, so I am going to answer about my Mommie and Daddie's house.

• What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now? My Mommie uses the kind of soap that comes in a dispenser and you use with a big puffy thing.
  
• Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator? No.
  
• What would you change about your living room? I would like to put a beautiful, big cat tree right in the middle of the living room. But Mommie said No.
  
• Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty? There are just a few dirty dishes in there.
• What is in your fridge? There is half a can of Stinky Goodness in there. And there are lots and lots of frozen foods, because my Mommie does not really cook. Except in the microwave.
  
• White or wheat bread? I do not eat bread. There is some whole wheat stuff in the pantry.
• What is on top of your refrigerator? There is a wooden cabinet built all around the refrigerator, so nothing can go on top. Not even me!
  
• What color or design is on your shower curtain? The main shower has glass all around it. The other two have plain white curtains.
  
• How many plants are in your home? One: an orchid plant in the bathroom. Does the algae growing in my Sea-Monkey tank count as a plant?
  
• Is your bed made right now? Yep.
  
• Comet or Soft Scrub? My Mommie does not use either of those things. She said they are too abrasive.
• Is your closet organized? I have my own closet, and it is very organized. See here for proof!
• Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home? I have a water fountain and it is made of plastic.
  
• Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now? No, that is too much like cooking for my Mommie to make.

• How many pillows do you sleep with? Sometimes I sleep on my Mommie's pillow next to her head.

• What is in your oven right now? Nothing. Sometimes a frozen pizza goes in there.
• Is there anything under your bed? Just some of my toys that are too big to fit into my toybox (like my Trackball).
• Chore you hate doing the most? I do not do any chores. If I did them, I would hate vacuuming the most, because I do not like loud noises.
• What retro items are in your home? I do not think there are any.
• Do you have a separate room that you use as an office? My Daddie has his own separate office. My Mommie has a built-in desk in the kitchen with her laptop computer on it. This does not seem very fair. Right, Mommie?
  
• How many mirrors are in your home? Um, I think there are five. Three in the bathrooms, and two on the walls in other rooms.
  
• What color are your walls? Sort of beige with white trim. I wish we could paint them pink though.
• What does your home smell like right now? I only smell air.
  
• Favorite candle scent? Lizard. Do they make lizard candles? I wish they did.
  
• What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now? There are little round "hamburger chips" that my Mommie sometimes puts on her veggie-burgers. I would never eat a pickle myself.
  
• Ever been on your roof? No. I am only allowed outside on my harness and leash or in my stroller. I do not know how to drive my stroller onto the roof.
• How many house phones? Good grief, there are NINE of them in the house! Not counting the cell phones.
• What style do you decorate in? My Mommie said it is Contemporary.
• Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints? Almost everything in the house is solid colors, or leather.
  
• Is there a smoke detector in your home? There are about seven of them on the ceiling.
  
• In case of fire, what are the items in your house which you’d grab if you only could make one quick trip? I would make sure my family got out safely. That's the only important thing.

The Five Things Meme!

Ariel tagged me for her new Meme about The Five Things That Changed Your Life! And I was also tagged by Bounce! I have been thinking about this, and here are my five things:

1. The most important thing that changed my life was when my Mommie adopted me. She got me from a breeder of Devon Rex cats. I am very lucky to have a good home and a happy life. Many cats do not even have a home. (The picture above is me at 6 months old!)
   
2. The next life-changing event was when I learned about Catster. Because that is where I first met Skeezix. And from there, I learned that Skeezix had his own blog. And then I started my very own blog back in December of 2006. I have learned a lot about blogging from my special friend Skeezix. He is my hero.
   
3. Then, I had surgery for bladder stones in January. This changed my life, but not in a good way. Because now I must eat prescription food called Hills X/D every day! But I still get to have treats sometimes.
   
4. Learning that fashion can be fun! Ever since I learned this, I have had a very wonderful time modeling beautiful fashions for cats.
   
5. Getting my very own pet Sea Monkeys. I am learning a lot about responsibility. Because I must give my pet Monkeys food, and aerate their habitat, and make sure they are not sick. Pets sure are a lot of work! Here is what my Sea Monkeys look like today. My pets do not enjoy having their picture taken. They are still babies.

What were you doing 10 years ago?

Since I am only three (years), I was not even borned 10 years ago. Of course, I was delivered by the stork. So, maybe the stork just carried me around for many years until it was my time to be delivered? I guess I do not really know the answer to this question. It is a big mystery.

What were you doing 1 year ago?

This was before I even had my own blog. So, I was just playing games and having fun. I was only two then. (Years).

A-Meme!

Meme: Information, Please!

I was tagged by Ali, Ariel, and Baby Mao for Miss Peach's very own meme: Information, Please! I laughed and laughed when I was typing up my answers because it was very fun.

1. Favorite season? Lizard season. For those of you who have not studied lizards, that is any season when it is warm outside.
2. Favorite colors? Light pink. Medium pink. Dark pink. Striped pink. Polka-dot pink.
   
3. Favorite room? The room my Mommie is in.
   
4. Do you like dogs? I am a little scairt of dogs. Except, Titus is my friend.
   
5. Ever been in an airplane box? YES! I flew inside an airplane TWO WHOLE TIMES! It was no good because I did not even get a Snack Box. And I could not see the movie from under the seat.
   
6. Do you have the get bathed? Nope, I am a good groomer and keep myself very clean. Except my ears get very waxy, and I have not figured out how to keep them clean all by myself.

19. What makes you happy? Everything! Except when bad things happen. Then I am sad.
20. Your most embarrassing moment? Oh boy. When I had my bladder stone surgery back in January, my Mommie came to see me in the hospital. But I made a little mistake and hissed at her! But I do not think it was my fault because I was feeling bad and I had some pain medicines inside me.

Meme: Information, Please!

Meme: First Five Days

The beautiful little Celeste and my great friend Yao-Lin tagged me for the meme about the first five days in my forever home. I am already three years old, so I will try to remember way back then:

• Day One: My Mommie picked me up from the breeder's house. She put me in the office room that was all made up as a nursery with my own food and water bowls, litter box, bed, and many many toys. I ran around playing and she watched me all afternoon. Then, she left to go to sleep in another room for the night. I didn't mind too much, and I didn't cry at all because I was a big girl (12 weeks old). I did accidentally go potty on a chair. Oops.
  
• Day Two: My Mommie spent all day playing with me and watching me in the "nursery" room. A big gray scary cat (Pixie) went to the door and we sniffed noses. The gray cat growled and hissed! In the afternoon, my Mommie wanted to take a nap, and she took me into the big bedroom with her and shut the door to keep the gray cat out. I got very very relaxed and fell deeply asleep next to my Mommie. When she woke up, I was still sound asleep next to her and I had wet the bed! And I was sleeping in my own potty! I did not get in trouble though. (That was the last time I ever had an accident).
  
• Day Three: I spent most of the day in the "nursery," and I got to come out in a little cage so Pixie could start to sniff me. She growled and hissed a lot! But I was safe in the cage.
  
• Day Four: I again spent most of the day in the "nursery," and I got to come out in the cage for even longer so Pixie could get to know me more. She still growled and hissed a lot! In the office I found a big hot box to sleep on. I liked being very very warm. I found out later this was the computer.
• Day Five: I again spent most of the day in the "nursery," and I got to come out in the cage for much longer so Pixie could get to know me more. She still growled and hissed, but maybe a little less. This went on for many days.
  

Finally, I got to walk around on the floor outside of the cage in the same room as Pixie. It took almost 30 days until I got to be around Pixie unsupervised. The "nursery" got dismantled, and I started using the regular litter box like a big girl. I am not scairt of Pixie now. Because I can beat her in a race.

I am supposed to tag three others. But I would like to learn about ANY cat's first five days. So, please play if you want!

One Word Meme!

True Confessions!

The glamorous and beautiful Marilyn MonREOW , my wonderful friend Dragonheart, and the fabulous Jinx tagged me for the meme about kitty confessions! Marilyn said that the rules for this meme are loosey-goosey: list as many things as you want, in whatever manner you want, and tag as many kitties as you want. Have fun, everybody!

I hope I don't get in trouble, but here are my confessions:

• I really like to give the bitey, and even though I am just playing, sometimes I make little dots of BLOOD come out! I get a little carried away sometimes because playing rough is fun. But I never scratch.
  
• I get up on the kitchen counters. All the time.
• Sometimes when I think no one is looking, I eat some of Pixie's food. Even though I am only supposed to eat my prescription foods. I don't eat her bananers though.
  
• I like to sharpen my claws on the carpeting even though I am supposed to use my post.
  
• Sometimes at night I sleep across my Mommie's neck, and I think she gets strangled. Just a little.
  
• After I have been out in my stroller or on my harness and leash, I go to the door and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry to go out again. That never works though.
  

I guess I am not a very good girl. I hope Skeezix still likes me after he reads this. I'll bet he never does anything bad!

Pixie's Favorite Things!

Favorite Things Meme

Guess what? Empress Bee (of the High Sea) tagged me for a meme! Thanks, Auntie Bee! This one is all about favorite things. So, here goes:

Some of my favorite things:

Time of Day:
Bedtime. As soon as my Mommie goes upstairs to bed, I follow her up the stairs, and hop right into bed and snuggle in for the night. Then I start purring and kneading, and sometimes I try to sleep on her head.

Day of the week:
Sunday. That is a day for napping.

Season of the year:
Winter. It is too hot here the rest of the year.

Holiday:

Oh, I love Christmas! Because I get lots and lots of presents. I like presents.

Beaches:

I don't know, because I am Not Allowed to go to the beach. And my Mommie never goes, either. Even though we live in south Florida. I would try to go by myself, but I think my stroller would get stuck in the sand.

• Sometimes I like having my picture taken and pose like a little ham, and sometimes, I RUN away when I see the camera coming!
  
• My favorite toy (this week) is the Cat Dancer
  
• I love to get up on high places. I can jump onto the stair banister by myself. I can hop from the window onto the bed canopy. I can climb to the top ledge in the closet. I am still trying to figure out how to get to the top of the kitchen cabinets by myself.
  
• My Mommie almost named me "Dolly" or "Kewpie" because when I was a kitten she thought I looked like a little Kewpie doll with my big round eyes.
  
• I love to make biscuits on my Mommie, and while I am doing that, I put my face right onto her skin. Sometimes I drool a little, too.
  
• I secretly adore and look up to my big sister Pixie, and I am hoping they will find a cure for cardiomyopathy. Soon!

I was tagged by Mr. Hendrix (or was it Bendrix?) for the meme about balance in our lives. I am very excited because Daisy almost never lets me do any posts.

How do you achieve balance in your life?

Now that I have a bad heart, balance is even more important than ever! I try to take very good care of myself and get plenty of rest and eat good foods. I love bananers, and I have some bananer pieces in my food every day. It tastes good.

What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life?

My sister Daisy is my biggest challenge! She always wants to play when I want to rest. Sometimes I have to hiss and growl at her to make her leave me alone. And sometimes my Mommie says to Daisy in a mean voice, "Daisy NO NO!" I like when that happens.

What are your priorities?
Spending quality time with my Mommie. I love getting chin scritches and ear rubs. I also must have regular visits with my cardiologist so I can stay as healthy as possible. I take my medicines every morning like a good cat. Sometimes I like to think about my friend Icon Baxter Bentley. We even went on a date once!
How have your priorities changed over time and why?

Believe it or not, I used to be wacky and wild just like Daisy when I was younger. That picture below is me as a baby playing with a milk ring! Back then, my priorities were jumping HIGH and having fun. Now that I am older and I do not have as much energy, my priority is just to be happy. I am very lucky to have lived with cardiomyopathy for as long as I have, so each day I have left is a gift.
What advice can you share to help all of us balance our own lives?
Treasure each and every day! Eat lots of bananers.

How do you achieve balance in your life? As a Circus Cat, balance is very very important to me. I try to practice balancing every single day using the tightrope above the bed or the stair banister. Is that what this question meant?

What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life? Balancing is hard. My biggest challenge is finding places to practice balancing.

What are your priorities? So many priorities and so little time! In between playing, sleeping and eating, I am trying to practice my circus stunts, study my Milton-Bradley Operations course so I can become a licensed doctor, and still find time to snuggle with my Mommie. Of course, finding time for strollering as often as possible is important too. Oh, and keeping up with all my friends and activities on the cat blogosphere.

How have your priorities changed over time and why? Now that I am all grown up (I am already three years old) I am trying to spend less time playing with toys and more time studying and practicing. But it is very hard, because toys are fun.

What advice can you share to help all of us balance our own lives? ALWAYS make time for fun. Be kind to your fellow cat. Eat plenty of Temptations.
