Thursday Thirteen, Edition #18
Here are my thirteen favorite all-purpose excuses. You can use them when you get into trouble for doing something bad. Like breaking something.
- Pixie did it!
- You never told me I shouldn't do it.
- It was all broken up like that before I started to play with it.
- It was part of a scientific experiment. Now I understand gravity.
- Some Other Cat Did It (the SOCDI defense).
- Two wrongs don't make a right. Does one wrong make a right?
- I just wanted to see what would happen.
- Oops.
- It was a mistake. I am allowed to make a mistake, aren't I?
- Did I really do that? I thought I was having a dream.
- I just did it to test your love for me. You still love me, right?
- I had too much catnip and blacked out.
- If none of those work, try this one: "Sorry Mommie, I love you!"

Daisy, these are really going to come in handy. I think my favorite is #6. My 5 year old kidbean would use this one, it sounds just like him! I also like #2.
He, he could fit on some little boys and girls too !

There are excellent excuses, and all really quite plausible and reasonable..
WE find that meowing pitifully and looking sweet if very effective here. After 16 years, it is our #1 method of innocence

Great excuses, Daisy! I've memorized them all. Usually what works for me is a gentle headbutt and a big-eyed, soulful expression.

Shhh, Daisy, don't tell my cats! Actually they never bother with escuses. They just give me the, "What?" look and allow me to clear up their mess. Little darlings!

mama is somewhat willing to accept the socdi excuse if i use it, because ben just might do whatever he's been accused of. it DOESN't work on me, though. mama knows i'm *innocent. (tee hee)

Those are great excuses Daisy! :) I guess when I get a little brother or sister, that will be one of the advantages: being able to blame things on them!
Dear Daisy I have made a note of these excellent excuses and I am going to use them all in future. I particuarly like the one "Pixie did it". This will really throw the humans out of wack as they don't even know who Pixie is - he, he, he. Purr FAZ

well we would say Pixie didded it, but then our mommy would call your mommy and tell her that Pixie was ofurr here tossing fings around, and well, that wouldn't be right. we could change Pixie to Trixie, and say that since she's a angel now, she was bisiting us and tossed stuff around HEY, that's a good idea. Those are some great excuses. Though I can't imagine why on earth you would need to use them. I would think that one look at your cute curly fur and bee-yoo-ti-ful eyes and any thought that you did something wrong would melt right out of your Mommie's mind.
