Alligator! In my backyard!!!

Sometimes when I go Outside on my harness and leash, I like to get close to the edge of the water in my backyard. Sometimes I can see FISH swimming in there! Well, I found out that it might be a mistake to get too close to the water. Because LOOK what came right to the edge of my yard! Can you see him? You might need to biggify the picture. Look very, very closely.
Here is a close up. A huge alligator! Aaaaahhhhhhhhh! He could eat me all up, too. When my Mommie was taking his picture, he decided to leave, and he made a big splash. I am not sure that my Mommie should be taking pictures that close to the alligator.
Here is another close up of his head. See his beady eye? This proves he is mean.
Finally he swammed away from my house. And I was happy.
You might be wondering what the alligator's name is. I did not ask him his name. Because I am not crazy.

Since the alligator came so close to my yard, my Mommie made a new rule. When I am in my backyard on my harness and leash, I am Not Allowed to get close to the water.

Look at this bird!

I saw this bird in my backyard. He caught himself a fish from the lake!! If you biggify, you can see the fish that got speared on his BEAK! The fish was shaking and shaking to get FREE! But the bird would not let him go. I guess it is better to get eaten by a giant bird than by an alligator. Aaaahhhhhhhhhh! I am staying away from the water. Because I do not want to get eaten alive. Of course, if I am in my stroller I would be SAFE.

That duck in the background is one of those fake birds I told you about.

A whole new world!!!!

I have been noticing that lots of my good friends get to go out on a harness and leash. I do not know why I never thought to try this myself before. So, I asked my Mommie to get me my very own harness and leash. And she did! This is the very first time in my entire life that I have felt grass under my paws. I LOVED IT! And notice the beautiful rhinestone diamonds on my leash? I am a little nervous that I could get mugged, because I think the rhinestone diamonds must be at least ten carats!
After walking all around and sniffing everything, I decided to lay down for a while. Even lounging around is more fun outside! And my ears turned very pink, too.
I am Not Allowed to be outside by myself, even with my leash and harness. This is because a giant lizard lives in the water behind my house. He might be able to EAT me! Here he is swimming around. Can you see him? (if you click to enlarge, he is bigger)

More about my home

I live in south Florida where it is almost always sunny and warm. I love to look out the window and watch all of the funny birds and lizards. Here I am on the lookout for lizards. Once in a while the little ones get into the house and I play with them; sometimes their tails fall off (gack!). Mommie always takes the lizards away from me and puts them outside - that is no fun.
Sometimes a really big lizard will swim out of the water in my backyard, and climb onto the grass. Mommie calls these "alligators." No one is to go outside when an alligator is there, even in their stroller. I like to play with lizards, but I would not play with an alligator. Here is one from my very own backyard. He is real!
Sometimes we will get a hurricane. I do not like them. When a hurricane is on it's way, my Daddie and Mommie must put hurricane shutters on every window. Then the house is very dark inside, even during the day. We were very lucky this year, and no hurricanes came. Here is what it looks like in my neighborhood after a little hurricane comes nearby:
