By now you probably know how much I love treats, but did you also know that I love to jump all around? One of my most favorite activities is jumping for treats! My Mommeh puts a treat somewhere and I get to leap for it, just like this:

Ready for Takeoff!

I have shown this picture before, where I am leaping from the counter to a tabletop. But I thought it would be real funny to show you my leap from underneath!

Here I am getting ready to take off:

This is me lifting off! Sorry the picture is blurry. My Mommie had to lay down on her back and the camera could never capture the start of the jump because I am too fast. Notice how I raise my paws at lift-off?

Here I am in mid-flight! You can see I do not have many furs on my undercarriage.

Prepare for landing!

While my Mommie was laying on the floor, here is what she saw: this is the Landing Crew!

Monday Mystery: Another Riddle!

Today's Monday Mystery is another riddle. I am not sure if this one is hard or easy. I think it might be easy. Here goes:

I can jump FOUR feet high.

This window is TWO feet high. Why can't I jump out the window?

Are you thinking real hard now? I am pretty sure you are doing other things! Please concentrate.

Anatomy of a Jump!

I love jumping all around! Here are all the parts of a good jump:

a) Find a good target and make sure you can reach it! Keep your eyes on the landing spot and stretch your arms out real long.

b) Make the rest of your body stretch out long, too. Even your back legs! You can use your tail to help with steering and balance.

c) Coming in for a landing! Do not forget to apply your brakes!

d) The final and most important step is to wait for the applause for your amazing landing!

Movie Monday: A Shoulder To Climb On

I love to climb high. But, so far, I have not been able to climb on top of the kitchen cabinets because they are too tall for me. Even when I stand as tall as I can! When my Mommie stands near the cabinets, I think I can use her to help me jump up there! Here I am figuring out the distance from her shoulder to the cabinets...

ps: My plan failed. Because my Mommie screamed when I dug my toenails into her shoulder.

Tricks for Tuesday: Jumping Demonstration

It is very important that you practice and practice your stunts so you do not get rusty. Here are four photos which demonstrate my jumping technique: First you must get in the proper stance. Then, extend one paw gracefully. Finally, LEAP! Notice the graceful arc at the top of the leap? Also, curling your tail up over your back helps you to slow down for the landing. Have fun leaping!

ps: Do not worry, that stove has NEVER been turned on! The picture is an animated gif that my Mommie helped me make on Photoshop (we just made the 4 photos into 4 different layers, saved as a .gif file, and selected "animate").
