Photo Hunters: Self

The Photo Hunters theme today is self (yourself or part of you). So, today I am going to show you a picture of me when I was just a baby. My ears were much bigger then! Also, the furs on my neck were not grown in yet.
And here you can see that even when I was a baby I had a big, round, squishy belly! I do not know why, but my Mommie did not take very many photos of me when I was little.

Goodbye, Dandelion

My friend Dandelion had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. He was 19 years old. I am very sad he had to go, but glad that he got to live such a long and happy life. I will miss you, Dandelion.

Thoughts on Thursday: Some toys are better than others...

I have many, many toys, but I just got a new toy from The Snow Leopard Trust that is extra-special. I first read about this toy from my friends Elmo, Maurice and Pixie. This special mousie was handmade in Mongolia! I think that might be much farther away than even California.
The Snow Leopard Trust was founded in 1981, and is the largest and oldest organization working solely to protect the endangered snow leopard and its Central Asian habitat. Here is a picture of a beautiful snow leopard. Photo credit: Photo by Dennis Conner. Courtesy of Snow Leopard Trust.
Here is the tag that came with my new mousie toy. You can click to biggify if your eyes are No Good.
Here I am meeting my new felt mousie toy for the first time. He is a very friendly toy!
And he does not mind when I play rough.
I want to make sure he does not run away!
Here is some more stuff about this toy. He's made of real sheep's wool!
The website said that when I play with this toy, I am helping to protect my big cat relatives in Central Asia! This makes me feel proud. I also read this:
With your purchase of these adorable cat toy mice, you are supporting herders who live throughout the remote regions of Mongolia, helping them get the much needed food, medicines and clothing for their families that they haven't been able to afford. As part of the program, these empowered participants work together to help in the conservation of snow leopards in their region, making a huge difference in the survival of this species.
Here is a link to the Toy Mouse Mini, in case you want one for yourself.

Tattle Tail Tuesday: My Mommie done a bad, bad thing!

For Tattle Tail Tuesday, I am going to tell you about a bad thing my Mommie done. Remember last week when I told you about how I was trapped in a little space under the cabinets? Well, it was so hard for me to get out of there, that my Mommie thought I would never ever go there again. So, she did not seal the opening up right away. Guess what happened? I WENT BACK IN THERE THE VERY NEXT DAY! Only this time, I was stuck for over 7 hours because I was too scairt to come out. In this video taken over the course of the day, you can see me being bribed with Temptations and baby food to come out. I was finally rescued (again). But my Mommie felt like a big numskull for not sealing off the space sooner.

Here you can see the space is finally sealed off with cardboard and package sealing tape. And the missing grout is fixed up, too.
Even after getting stuck twice, I am still trying to get in there! I think from this photo you can see just how small the space is compared to me. I do not even know how I got in there! We have lived in this house almost two years and I have never gone in that spot before. But now, I am obsessed with going back in there!

About Memorial Day

Today is an important day to remember those who died in the service of their country. Memorial Day originated in 1868, when May 30th was designated as a day on which the graves of Civil War soldiers would be decorated. This day was originally called "Decoration Day" but was changed to Memorial Day and became a holiday dedicated to the memory of all war dead.

I would like to take a moment and salute all of the brave service men and women.
My Grandpa did not die in a war, but I am very proud of the service he provided to our country and I would like to remember him on Memorial Day. My Grampa was a Master Paratrooper. Then he went to Officer Candidate School, and then to flight school. After he got his wings, he went to Vietnam and flew Caribou transport planes. He was very brave and got many medals. My Grampa served almost 15 years in the Army, and after he resigned his commission, he became a commercial airline pilot for Western Airlines, and then for Delta Airlines until he retired. This is the flag from his military funeral.
My Grandpa died before I was borned. I wish I could have met him.

Photo Hunters: Shoes

The Photo Hunters theme today is shoes. Here I am playing around in my Mommie's closet. You can see some of her shoes. Most of them are very ugly. Here are two pairs of shoes: one pair belongs to me and another pair belongs to my Mommie. Can you guess which is which?
You are right! The ugly Dr. Martens Mary Jane shoes belong to my Mommie.
These are my cute pink bunny slippers. I hate them, because I do not like anything on my feets. I will wear almost any outfit, but I do not tolerate anything on my feets. Even very cute bunny slippers.
"Hey, bunny slippers! Get away from me! Scram!"

Fashion Friday: My Comfy Robe

Today I am in my guest bedroom modeling my cozy red flannel robe. I know it is not as glamorous as my pink bed jacket, but it is much more comfortable.
It has a belt that ties it together in the front. See? If you have a squishy tummy like me, I do not recommend tying it very tightly.
Uh oh! My Mommie said that I must go to bed now! I thought we were just pretending to model nightclothes. I am not even a little bit tired.
Okay, I pulled down the bedcovers. Is that good enough?
All right, I am in bed. What more do you want?
Oh. I forgot that you are not supposed to wear a bathrobe to sleep in. My mistake. Will you read me a bedtime story now?

ps: Happy Birthday to ML!

Goodbye, Bonnie

My friend Bonnie Underfoot had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. I will miss her terribly.

She is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone, Or you can smile because she lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she is gone,
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

My new color copier!

I am very, very excited because I just got a new COLOR copier! See, the package says it is Great For Copying Comics. This will be very useful, because I do not have my very own copier. The copier comes in this neat little egg-shaped package.
Let's start copying! First, I will select a good comic to copy. I like Peanuts because Snoopy is funny.
Here is my first copy. I am a little bit disappointed with the copy quality. And it is not very colorful either. The only color is yellow! That's not even my favorite color.
I am comparing the copy to the original. The original is much, much better.
Next I am testing out the Enlargement function. Hmmm, there seems to be a lot of distortion...
I am very, very disappointed with my copier. And I wasted $1.99 of my allowance on it! I cannot recommend this product.
ps: Be sure to have your Mommie help you with this equipment. The instructions say "NOT A GUM. DO NOT EAT OR CHEW." Safety first!
