I am happy and proud to announce that my Red Carpet outfit tied with Samantha for first place in the category of Best Female Real outfit! Check out all of the winners at the Red Carpet Buzz blog. Fashion Friday: My Glamorous Coat

Since winter is almost over, I thought I should model my new coat before it gets too warm. I think it is very glamorous. It has faux leopard trim. I'm pretty sure "faux" means extra fancy. Like, when you go to a jewelry store, you should always ask for "faux" diamonds to be sure you get the best quality. My Mommie tried to make me wear this cap with my coat. I think you can tell I am a little bit mad about this, because it does not look right together. The cap is much more sporty, and I am going for old-fashioned glamour.
After my photo shoot, I wanted to go out in my beautiful coat so I could show it off. My Mommie said No. So I am all dressed up with nowhere to go...
I feel like an old-fashioned movie star when I wear my glamorous coat. This got me to thinking, I would love to star in a movie like Catsablanca. Except of course Skeezix is my true leading man.

Poll Results Are In!

The results of Monday's Poll are in. And you picked good! Going outside on my harness and leash was the clear winner! Hooray! There were some good write-in answers too. Here are some of them:

Go strollering (3)
Eat peanut butter (2)
Eat a rude lizard's tail
Have a new plastic lizard
Dress up in the beautiful outfit Skeezix designed
Eat bananas
Kiss Skeezix
Destroy evil lizards
Meet a handsome male cat for a date
Shopping spree in Paris
Have a lizard family over to my house for a sleepover

Even though the winning choice was for me to go outside on my harness and leash, many of you wanted Pixie to get an ear massage. So she did! Here is a picture: Pixie is meowing with happiness because she loves getting her ears rubbed.
Here I am outside in my Puppia harness and leash. I got to see many fun things!
Can you spot the lizard? Many times they try to hide. But I have good lizard vision.
It is also important to scan the skies carefully.
I got to see this big bird! I think he might be a blue heron. But I am not sure.
Then, I saw a BLIMP! I never saw one of those before.
Next, I went to the edge of the water. I did not stay there very long, because alligators could eat me all up.
Finally, I got my dream come true: I climbed a real tree! Well, I did not really climb it. My Mommie put me in the tree and I hung on tightly.
Thank you for voting to allow me this wonderful adventure!

Brushing Frenzy!

My coat is not very thick, and my curly furs do not really shed. But I still enjoy being brushed. Brushing feels good! Sometimes, it is a little bit dangerous for my Mommie to brush me, on account of my sharp clawrs. Turn up the volume, because my clawrs make some funny sound effects!

My fate is in your paws!

Here is a fun game: you get to decide what I do next. Just enter your choice in the poll, below. Whatever the winning answer is, that is what I get to do! You can also write in your own answer.

The poll will close on Wednesday at 9:00 am Eastern time, or when the poll maximum of 100 votes is received, whichever comes first. Later that day I will get to do the thing you picked for me! Then, on Thursday I will show pictures of me doing whatever you selected for me to do. Please choose wisely!

PS: It looks like the poll will allow more than 100 responses, so it will remain open until Wednesday morning!

I am a little bit exhausted from trying to capture lizards, so I think it is my turn for a spa treatment!

Photo Hunters #57: Wooden

The Photo Hunters theme this week is wooden. I really wanted to do some wooden poses, but my Mommie told me to stop fooling around. So I am going to show you this carved wooden lizard from Oaxaca, Mexico. Here is what I learned about these wood carvings:
In a great variety of subjects and sizes, the painted wood figures are carved from copal wood using the natural shape to inspire the sculptural form. If representing snakes or animals with tails, for instance, the tail takes the winding form of the tree branch. Copal wood is easy to carve while green. An uncomplicated piece such as an armadillo 10 inches long, takes about three days to carve. After drying in the sun for another three days it becomes light weight and hard. A sealer is applied to protect it from insects. Men do the carving, and the women paint, everybody working up to 15 hour days. The prosperity of many of the artisans is an amazing turnaround in villages where 15 years ago many were wondering how to make a living.
Here my lizard is trying to show off his intricate patterns. My back has patterns too, but they are not intricate. Maybe because my patterns are not painted on.
Lizard, I will be your friend. Since you are made of wood and I cannot eat you.

Fashion Friday: Doing the Polka?

Here I am modeling a very pretty, casual dress. I love the frilly pink ruffles. This dress has what is called a pattern of polka dots. I am a little bit confused about this because I never saw even one of the dots dancing the polka. I could probably do a polka or a tango while I am wearing this dress though, because it is very comfortable. Look at me! I got all shrunken! I can do funny optical illusions with this dress.
Hahahahahaha! I cannot stop laughing at my Shrunken-Daisy trick!
Okay, I had better go now. See you at the Polka! Hahahahahaha! This modeling business is much more fun than I realized.

Thoughts on Thursday: About Birds

Here is what I have been thinking today: you know that bugs and lizards and snakes will sometimes come Inside so you can play fun games together like "Chomp You Up," "Remove the Tail" and "Chase and Eat." Something I have learned about birds: no matter how much you ask them, they will not come Inside the house to play. This makes them Party Poopers. I have video proof of this. You might need to turn up your volume.

Mimi's Message in a Bottle Meme

This is a very fun Meme, and you can find all the rules on Mimi's blog :

The instructions say that you are about to send a virtual Message In a Bottle across the Blog Ocean. Leave a message in the sand or on the bottle. Write anything you wish. Be a pirate or a poet. Serious or silly. Anonymous or not. What message would you like to send out to the universe?

Here is the message I would like to send, along with a special poem:

Go on little lizard, and sail the briny sea
And when you're nice and salty, then come back to me

If you pick up some seafood, please bring them all back too
I'm sure they will taste tender, and juicy just like you

Please don't hurry back to me, you do not have to race
It takes a lot of time to make a lizard Boullaibase!

I had lots of fun doing this Meme, so I hope everycat decides to play along! Just go to Mimi's page to get all the rules and a blank copy of the graphic.

Also, thanks to everybody for voting in Wozog's cute cat challenge. And guess what? I made it to the next round!

Bathing my Filthy Beans

The instructions for my pet Jumping Beans say that I should give my pets a bath about once a week. I never knew Jumping Beans were so filthy. But I think it is very important to follow instructions. If you do not own a microscope, you can click to enlarge the instructions.
Here I am explaining to my Beans that they are about to take a bath. I think they are happy about this. But I am not certain. They are swimming all around. I hope they get very clean.
Why are they taking so long? This is getting boring. I think it is time to end the bath.
Wheee! It's like a water slide! Hahahahaha!
Now my beans are all wet. I had a great idea! But my Mommie reminded me that I am Not Allowed to work anything that has electricity. I guess my Beans will have to dry naturally. I hope my Beans do not catch a mold. Hahahahaha!

Thanks for the Awards!

I am very proud and honored to have received some new awards. First, Pixie is excited to announce that she won Best "Other" Valentine in Monty Q's Who Do You Love contest. If you click on Pixie's photo below, it will take you to her entry. She made a Valentine to bananers!
Next, I am surprised and happy to accept the award for Most Popular and Best singer in Skeezix's Valentine's Day contest. If you click on the award, you can see my entry. I sang a song to Skeezix. If you look very, very closely, you might be able to tell I was lip-synching.
And finally, I am proud to announce that my Lizard Soup comic was awarded the Rising Blogger Post of the Day! If you click on the award, you can read the very nice and wonderful review written by Mimi.

Monday Mystery: What's Behind the Door?

Here I am sitting on the other side of the double doors in a bedroom, asking nicely for the doors to open.I tried scratching and scratching on the doors, but they still did not open.
Next, I peeked under the door...
... and then stuck my arm through.
There is something on the other side of the doors that I really want. Can you guess what it is?

A. A lizard
B. A small pile of Temptations
C. My big sister Pixie
D. Nothing, I just do not like being locked in a room

If you think you know the answer, click HERE to see if you are correct.

Sunday Comics with Daisy!

Lizards are much craftier than I thought. I decided to be nice and invite the lizard to go "swimming."

I guess I should have used noodles instead of vegetables for my soup. Because every pool has a Noodle toy.
