In Remembrance

Pixie and I are lighting a candle in memory of our sweet friends who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. And I am wearing my pink wig in honor of Anastasia.
Goodbye Oscar the Puppy Cat, Anastasia, and little Ubee. You are very much missed, my friends.
This candle is in honor of all of our friends who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Pixie and I also want to remember the Cats-Who-Came-Before in our household: Slinky, Haiku, and Cricket.
Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

Fashion Show Friday: My Baja Hoodie!

Here I am proudly modeling my new Baja hoodie. This is the perfect outfit to wear to the beach, or for a casual Friday, or lounging around the house. This is a side-view of my new outfit. See the cute pockets? I can keep Temptations in there! My Baja Hoodie is a very hip outfit. And comfortable, too.
You can also wear the hood up. I am not sure if this is a good look for me...
What do you think? The hood might be a little small for my big ears.
At last, my modeling payment. I got SEVEN Temptations for this gig.

ps: Pixie and I will be lighting our Remembrance candle for Ana, Oscar and Ubee tonight.

Thursday Thirteen, Edition #36: Alligators vs. Lizards!

After my scare with the alligator this week, I decided I would compare the alligators in my yard with the lizards. So here are 13 things about alligators compared to lizards:
  1. Alligators want to eat ME!
  2. I want to eat lizards. Lizards win this round.
  3. You can make cute shoes and handbags from both alligators and lizards. This is a tie.
  4. When you play with lizards, their tails fall off. This makes another fun toy to play with.
  5. Alligators are not for playing with. Lizards win again.
  6. Lizards fit into my Scientific Observation Pen. They are very interesting to study.
  7. I do not think it is safe to study alligators with my magnifying glass. I might have to use binoculars to study them. Or, maybe even a telescope! Lizards win again.
  8. Lizards are very rude.
  9. I am not sure if alligators are rude or not. But since they want to eat me all up, I am going to guess that they do not have good manners either. This is a tie.
  10. Alligators have big teeths that can eat me up.
  11. Lizards have tiny teeths that cannot hurt me. And you know I hate teeths! Lizards win again!
  12. The name "alligator" comes from the spanish "el lagarto" which means "lizard." The Spanish phrase mispronounced in English came to be "Alligator." Well, since the alligators STOLED their name from the lizards, this means they are worse than lizards. Alligators lose again.
  13. I must be very fair. I have never seen an alligator sneak into my house or peer into my window like the lizards do. So alligators win the last round.
So, the score is 5 for the lizards, 1 for the alligators, and 2 ties. The results of my analysis prove that lizards are better than alligators. I am very sorry about this, alligators.

Kitty Care Package Delivery!

I won a very wonderful prize from DKM: this Kitty Care Package! It has some treats, some Snuggles, and a whole pile of Squiggles to give to the shelter cats at Cats Exclusive. I had a very important job: Quality Control. Every single one of these Snuggles and Squiggles passed my strict testing. My Mommie would not let me test the treats. This seems a little unfair. I could have glued the tamper-resistant seal back on. And here are pictures of the cats enjoying their presents! This kitten just got spayed. But she is still very spunky.
The bright pink Squiggle was very popular.
And here is a kitten who STOLED the pink Squiggle! I do not blame him though, because the pink Squiggle is the best Squiggle.
"Should we eat, or should we Squiggle?"
Squiggle!
And finally, Celeste shows off a Squiggle and a Snuggle!

Alligator! In my backyard!!!

Sometimes when I go Outside on my harness and leash, I like to get close to the edge of the water in my backyard. Sometimes I can see FISH swimming in there! Well, I found out that it might be a mistake to get too close to the water. Because LOOK what came right to the edge of my yard! Can you see him? You might need to biggify the picture. Look very, very closely.
Here is a close up. A huge alligator! Aaaaahhhhhhhhh! He could eat me all up, too. When my Mommie was taking his picture, he decided to leave, and he made a big splash. I am not sure that my Mommie should be taking pictures that close to the alligator.
Here is another close up of his head. See his beady eye? This proves he is mean.
Finally he swammed away from my house. And I was happy.
You might be wondering what the alligator's name is. I did not ask him his name. Because I am not crazy.

Since the alligator came so close to my yard, my Mommie made a new rule. When I am in my backyard on my harness and leash, I am Not Allowed to get close to the water.

Photo Hunters #33: Happy

The Photo Hunters theme this week is happy. I am a very lucky cat this week. Because I get to show you how happy I am to eat the Temptations! Here I am focusing on the yummy treat that my Mommie is holding out for me. Next I GRABBED the tasty snack and put it right inside my mouth. And guess what I did next? I gobbled it all up!
This made me very happy. The end.

Fashion Show Friday: Horsin' Around

Pssst.... over here. It's me, Daisy! Did you recognize me in my costume? I am disguised as a little pink pony. See my beautiful orange mane? I'll bet you expected to see me out in the corral!
I been wondering if Gumby would like me to be his pony pal instead of Pokey.
See, if I pretend to be grazing, I look even more realistic. I'll bet you can't even tell there is a cat inside the pony-suit.
But it is really ME! And here I am enjoying my oats. Well, it is really a Temptation. But since I am pretending to be a pony, I will make-believe I am eating oats. It is much more realistic that way.

Thursday Thirteen, Edition #35: Gumby!

After that very bad mistake Gumby and I made last weekend walking into a book on lizards, I thought I should learn some more about Gumby. So, here are 13 things about my friend Gumby:
  1. Gumby was created by Art Clokey in 1953. I never knew Gumby was so old! Because he is still very flexible.
  2. Gumby is green! Just in case you are colorblind. He is green because this was Mr. Clokey's favorite color.
  3. The original Gumby was made of clay and beeswax. The Gumby you can buy in a store now is made of something else though. So if you buy your own Gumby, do not expect to mold him into different shapes.
  4. Gumby first appeared on the Howdy Doody show in 1956. He got his very own series in 1957. I think I would like to be on TV, too.
  5. His sidekick is his pony pal Pokey. Pokey is sometimes skeptical, and he likes to mutter things under his breath when he gets dragged along on Gumby's adventures. I do not know why Pokey gets cranky sometimes when he has a good friend like Gumby! Maybe his horse-shoes are hurting his feet.
  6. Some of Gumby's other pals are Goo and Prickle. Goo can fly! And Prickle is dinosaur. Gumby's parents are named Gumbo and Gumba, and he has a dog named Nopey. Gumby also knows the Blockheads, but they are not nice. The Blockheads are numskulls, and they are always getting into trouble. I do not like the Blockheads very much. Especially Blockhead J.
  7. Gumby was designed with the big lump on the side of his head after a photo of Art Clokey's father as a teenager with a huge cowlick! Here is a picture of Arthur Farrington. Nice hairdo, Mr. Farrington!
  8. Art Clokey likes to call Gumby's funny bump "the bump of wisdom that the Buddhists have." Gumby is very smart. I have two funny bumps on my head. They are called my ears! Hahahahahahaha!
  9. The original Gumbys and Pokeys were made with rolling pins and cookie cutters! But I do not think you could eat them like cookies.
  10. Later on, the clay puppets were made from poured molds. The plasticine disintegrates quickly, so the Gumby animators went through 5 or 6 Gumbys per scene!
  11. Gumby does not walk very often. He likes to glide around on one foot. Do not tell anybody, but this saved many hours of work in the claymation! I really like the funny noise Gumby makes when he glides around. It sounds like this: ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz! I am not sure I wrote the sound right, because it does not sound like a snore.
  12. Gumby is 7" tall. This means I am taller than Gumby.
  13. The Gumby theme song was made by a musician named Pete Kleinow. Here is how the song goes:
Gumby! He was once a little green slab of clay. Gumby! You should see what Gumby can do today. Gumby! He can walk into any book, with his pony pal Pokey, too. If you've got a heart then Gumby's a part of you.
And finally, I will show you a clip of the opening from the original Gumby show. Since you know the lyrics now, sing along!

ps: I just found out that I was one of the 10 Winners of the 1st Romlet Design Awards!

I got an award!!!

My very nice friend Auntie Bee awarded me the Silver "Recommended Read" award. She said I make her smile! This makes me feel happy inside. Thank you very much for this award, Auntie Bee.
This award, and several others, are being brought to us by The Painted Veil aka Shinade, and by Book Project aka Zubli. Accordingly they have designated themselves as a jury to spread this and other awards through the blogosphere, namely The Gold, The Silver, and The Opal Awards of excellence.

The Silver Award is passed onto two readers of the chosen one's liking. The Gold and The Opal Awards are granted only by Shinade or Zubli, as these are awards of the highest merit, and few will be awarded.

My choices for the Silver Recommended Read are: Skeezix! His blog is always a must read because he is funny, handsome, has many fun contests, and he is always up on the latest news. And have you noticed his big muscles? Skeezix sure is easy on the eyes. So he is a Recommended Read and I recommend that you look at his cute pictures, too. Gee, it sure is hard to pick a second one, because I enjoy every blog I visit. But I decided to give the second award to the Cat Blogosphere. This is THE place to go to find out everything that is happening in the cat blogosphere, along with links to all the daily posts, so this blog is definitely a Recommended Read.

To those selected, link back to Shinade or to the Book Project as they are the creators.

Catnip Capers!

I was tagged by Miz Allie Cat and Ariel for a Meme about catnip called Catnip Capers! All you cats have to do is list 5 things you do whenever you're on the nip, and don't forget to tag some friends!

Well, I am glad I was tagged for this Meme, because I LOVES the catnip. So, I will show you 5 things I do when I am on catnip:

1. I loves to EAT the catnip!
2. I roll all around in the 'nip like a crazy cat, and get catnip all over my furs. I am still eating some here, too.
3. I get the googly eyes from catnip.
4. I act very, very silly. If my Mommie tries to pet me now, I will bunny-kick her arm. Very hard! Because I play rough when I am on the 'nip.
5. I like to do upside-down-looking when I am on catnip. Things look very crazy that way!
And now I will tag:
Scout
Tiger Lily
Kellie
