Thursday Thirteen, Edition #23

Here are 13 things that I LOVE about my toys:

  1. They are very, very FUN to play with.
  2. You can get good exercise by running and jumping around with them.
  3. The soft ones are good to snuggle with.
  4. No matter how hard I bite my toys, they never bite back! If I bite my sister Pixie, she gives me a big hurty bitey in return. So, I think toys are nicer than Pixie.
  5. You can practice your hunting skills with them.
  6. Some of them make funny noises when you shake them.
  7. You can play fun pretend games with them, like the Strangler, Ninja Cat, and Hoppy the Clown.
  8. If your furs are already clean, you can groom your toys! (the fuzzy ones).
  9. If your Mommie yells at you for giving her the bitey, you can bite your toys! As hard as you want! And toys do not bleed. Ever.
  10. It is very fun to steal toys from my sister Pixie.
  11. Many times, toys are STUFFED with catnip!
  12. You can practice rabbit-kicking on them.
  13. Playing with toys is a fun thing I can do with my Mommie.

Toysday!

Guess what the man in the blue shorts delivered? Our prizes from the aCATemy awards! Pixie LOVED the Crash Pad. So, I let her have it. I have never seen her so happy before. Pixie tried to steal the bananer toy, too! But I got it away from her.
The bananer toy is very very fun! Here I am pretending I am going to EAT the bananer!
You can use your tent to make up fun games with your bananer, too. This game is called "Bananer on the Roof!"
I found out that playing hard with your bananer toy is very exhausting.
Pixie and I want to give a big THANK YOU to Skeezix for sponsoring this very fun contest!

Happy Memorial Day!

For Memorial Day, I wanted to share something very, very special with you. This is the flag from my Grampa's (my Mommie's Dad) military funeral. He died in 2001 before I was borned, so I never got to meet him. I am sad about that. But I am very proud of the service he provided to our country. My Grampa was a Master Paratrooper. Then he went to Officer Candidate School, and then to flight school. After he got his wings, he went to Vietnam and flew Caribou transport planes. He was very brave and got many medals. My Grampa served almost 15 years in the Army, and after he resigned his commission, he became a commercial airline pilot for Western Airlines, and then for Delta Airlines until he retired. I wish I could have met my Grampa.
I hope you all have a very wonderful Memorial Day!

True Confessions!

The glamorous and beautiful Marilyn MonREOW , my wonderful friend Dragonheart, and the fabulous Jinx tagged me for the meme about kitty confessions! Marilyn said that the rules for this meme are loosey-goosey: list as many things as you want, in whatever manner you want, and tag as many kitties as you want. Have fun, everybody!

I hope I don't get in trouble, but here are my confessions:
  • I really like to give the bitey, and even though I am just playing, sometimes I make little dots of BLOOD come out! I get a little carried away sometimes because playing rough is fun. But I never scratch.
  • I get up on the kitchen counters. All the time.
  • Sometimes when I think no one is looking, I eat some of Pixie's food. Even though I am only supposed to eat my prescription foods. I don't eat her bananers though.
  • I like to sharpen my claws on the carpeting even though I am supposed to use my post.
  • Sometimes at night I sleep across my Mommie's neck, and I think she gets strangled. Just a little.
  • After I have been out in my stroller or on my harness and leash, I go to the door and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry and cry to go out again. That never works though.
I guess I am not a very good girl. I hope Skeezix still likes me after he reads this. I'll bet he never does anything bad!

OK, I am going to tag Minx because she is a master criminal, and I would like to learn more about her!

Photo Hunters #20: Colorful

The Photo Hunters theme this week is colorful. So, I am going to show you some of my very wonderful and colorful TOYS!

First, I must dig through my toybox to find my most colorful toys...
I am a very lucky cat to have so many pretty toys. Toys are fun.
ps: my ears are back because I am about to take a big CHOMP out of that red heart!

Fashion Show Friday: Accessories!

It is very very important to have the proper accessories. Here are my beautiful pink wrist bands that my Grandma got me. See, they have pink sequins on them! This means they sparkle! My wrist bands are the perfect accessory for going out on the town because they are very glamorous. But do not make a mistake and try to wear these wrist bands when you work out. Because you might get them dirty.
And here is Pixie in her new pearls. I think these large pearls are meant for an older girl, like Pixie. But the necklace does include a beautiful pink bow. Yes, that bow is very beautiful. Hmmm. I might need to borrow that necklace, Pixie.
Thank you Grandma for the beautiful accessories! We love you!

Thursday Thirteen, Edition #22

Here are 13 things I have learned about lizards from my scientific study this week:
  1. They do not really enjoy being confined in the Lizard Observation Pen.
  2. Lizards love to do push-ups. I am very surprised that their arms are not more pumped-up.
  3. The closer you put your face to the lizard, the faster he moves! And lizards can move very very FAST.
  4. I was not able to hyp-no-tize the lizard. (I think the lizard knew I was going to put him in a pink dress and blond wig once he was hyp-no-tized).
  5. The lizard's tail does not fall off if you do not touch him.
  6. A lizard can do some good climbing on the mesh of the Lizard Observation Pen.
  7. The thing on their neck that puffs out is called a dew lap or throat fan. I like to call it a goiter.
  8. Lizards like to eat small insects and bugs. I would like to eat the lizard.
  9. Lizards do not like to nap when they are in the Lizard Observation Pen.
  10. When the lizard's tail breaks off, it continues to wiggle around! Just the tail!
  11. Lizards can bite, but their teeths are too tiny to hurt you.
  12. Their skin molts, but just in little pieces. So you can't get a lizard skin outfit from his molt.
  13. It is very hard to get a lizard into a harness and leash.
Notice how I did not refer to my lizard as George? That is because when he is a scientific research subject, the lizard cannot have a name. Except, maybe, "Scientific Subject A." This is so you can stay objective in your research. Besides, George never comes when called.

Pixie's Favorite Things!

Monty Q. Kat tagged ME for the favorite things meme! I have been studying hard so I can do good on this; I wouldn't want to give any wrong answers. Here I go:

Some of my favorite things:

Time of Day:
Mornings. Because I only get some bananers on my crunchies in the morning.

Day of the week:
Any day with bananers is a good day.

Season of the year:
There are different seasons? Um, bananer growing season.

Holiday:
Bananer Festival

Beaches:
I don't understand.

Song:
The Chiquita Bananer song. In case you haven't heard it before, here is how it goes (sing along!):
"I'm Chiquita banana and I've come to say
Bananas have to ripen in a certain way
When they are fleck'd with brown and have a golden hue
Bananas taste the best and are best for you
You can put them in a salad
You can put them in a pie-aye
Any way you want to eat them
It's impossible to beat them
But, bananas like the climate of the very, very tropical equator
So you should never put bananas in the refrigerator."
Music © 1945 Shawnee Press Inc.

Flower:
Flowers are pretty.

Talk show:
There is a show about talking?

Movie:

Soaps:
I don't like soap.

Beverage:
I like to drink lots of water. From my fountain.

Fruit:
Bananers! Bananers! Bananers!

Snack:
Bananers! Bananers! Bananers!

Food:
Bananers! Bananers! Bananers!

Restaurant:
Banana Leaf Restaurant. I have never been there, but I am pretty sure I would like it.

My sister Daisy already tagged 5 other cats. I'm a little tired now. I think I need a bananer!

Toesday (and Tummy, too!)

Here I am cleaning my toes. But, look, I am making a very BIG mistake! Because the furs on my neck are a mess. I should be grooming there instead. Here is another picture of my multi-colored toes. And you can see my tummy, too. It gets all wrinkled up when I have to bend over. Can you have a "spare tire" when you only weigh 6 pounds?

Scientific Lizard Study

LOOK! I have captured George! Now I am going to study him. Here he is in this scientifically designed Lizard Observation Pen. I have recreated his natural habitat (see the leaves?). I think he likes it in there! I am observing him closely. The first thing I noticed is that George's eyes are the same color as mine! I will jot this finding down in my scientific journal.
Being a lizard researcher involves many minutes of intense study.
I must observe and record his every move!
I believe in "paws-on" research methods.
I wanted to study many more things. For example, what does George taste like? How much force is required to make his tail disconnect? But Mommie said we had to let him go. So after less than 30 minutes of study, George was returned to the wild. Bye George! Thanks for letting me study you.

Favorite Things Meme

Guess what? Empress Bee (of the High Sea) tagged me for a meme! Thanks, Auntie Bee! This one is all about favorite things. So, here goes:

Some of my favorite things:

Time of Day:
Bedtime. As soon as my Mommie goes upstairs to bed, I follow her up the stairs, and hop right into bed and snuggle in for the night. Then I start purring and kneading, and sometimes I try to sleep on her head.

Day of the week:
Sunday. That is a day for napping.

Season of the year:
Winter. It is too hot here the rest of the year.

Holiday:
Oh, I love Christmas! Because I get lots and lots of presents. I like presents.

Beaches:
I don't know, because I am Not Allowed to go to the beach. And my Mommie never goes, either. Even though we live in south Florida. I would try to go by myself, but I think my stroller would get stuck in the sand.

Song:
Anything by the Jingle Cats!

Flower:
Daisies!

Talk show:
Ellen DeGeneres. Because she dances good.

Movie:
Well, I used to be afraid of Godzilla because he is such a big lizard. But now that I turned three, I am not afraid of him any more. So, I will say Godzilla. (Godzilla, you will not eat me up, right?)

Soaps:
I don't watch soap operas. But I might like General Hospital, to pick up some doctoring tips.

Beverage:
Tuna water

Fruit:
I hate fruits. But I will say bananers, because my sister Pixie loves them so.

Snack:
TEMPTATIONS!

Food:
Lizards

Restaurant:
I am Not Allowed to go to restaurants. But I think I would like a seafood restaurant like Shells.

And now I get to tag five others! I choose Axel, Diamond, Felissa, Jellicle Catz, and Mickey Mantle! I hope you have fun, if you want to play.

Photo Hunters #19: Cooking

The Photo Hunters theme this week is cooking. At first, I thought this would be hard, because I am Not Allowed to use the oven or stove. But then I remembered.... I get to snoopervise the cooking of the popcorn! I like to hear it go POP*POP*POP!
But the very best part about cooking the popcorn is....
EATING!!!!

Fashion Show Friday: Go Marlins!

My Mommie just reminded me that, in addition to the Yankees and the Red Sox, I should also root for my local baseball team. And guess what? My local team is called the Marlins. That is a kind of big FISH! And look! Their team color is this very beautiful teal blue. I'm very glad my team colors are pretty.
T-shirts are good to wear on casual Fridays, too!

My new sweater!

Look what the man in the blue shorts brought! My new sweater made by Munchkin, Missy and Monte's Mommie! I noticed right away that it is very beautiful. Then I had to sniff, sniff, sniff and sniff some more. It smells GOOD! My Mommie buttoned it up, but since it is very warm here, I decided to wear it with just the top button buttoned, because I like to be a trend-setter. And I hope Skeezix will like my new sweater, because it shows my belly!
Here is the back of the pretty sweater. It is the perfect length!
And just a little reminder: Even when beautiful fashions cover most of your furs, you cannot neglect your grooming.

Happy Mother's Day!

I am very excited about Mother's Day! Here is a picture of my Mommie and me that I have been carrying around in my little pink purse for months.
And guess what? Pixie decided to give Mommie a special Mother's Day present: one of her precious bananers!
But Pixie ate the bananer all up when she thought no one was looking! And Mommie did not even get mad that her present got all ated up! That is why she is a good Mommie.

Pixie and I wanted to say to our Mommie:
Happy Mother's Day! We love you!

And we hope ALL the Mommies out there have a happy day today, too!
